Day 1 : Fez – Ifrane – Azrou – Monkey Forest – Erfoud – Merzouga
4 days Fes to Marrakech desert trip departure: After breakfast, we will travel to the dunes of Merzouga. We will go to the Middle Atlas, and visit Ifrane, known as the Switzerland of Africa. The next village will be Azrou “the rock”, where we will stop in their forest to see the Monkeys in freedom. Then we will follow the road for Talghomt or Cuello del Camella, at 1,907 meters altitude. The relief is impressive, the mountains are completely bare, covered in a purple coat. We will arrive to Errachidia and commit to the crossing of the Tafilalet massif to the Erfoud palm grove. We will continue along the track until we reach the famous fine sand dunes of Erg Chebbi next to Merzouga. Upon arrival you will have free time to enjoy the calm of the desert and see how the dunes change color. Courtesy dinner and accommodation at the Hotel.
Day 2 : Merzouga – Erg Chebbi – Merzouga
After breakfast, we will visit other tracks used in the “Rally Paris – Dakar” visit nomads of the desert with whom we will drink tea and see the oasis where some movies were shot as “Sahara”, starring Penélope Cruz. We will visit the town of Khamlia named for the slave trade they brought from the Sudan. And after eating we will change the traction of the 4×4 by that of the animal traction. The dromedaries will take us into the desert of dunes to contemplate an unforgettable sunset. This night will be special, the dromedaries in the dunes in nomad tents (jaimas), as the Berbers do. Here we will enjoy a Berber dinner, music and a starry sky like you have never seen before. Courtesy dinner and accommodation in the camp.
Day 3 : Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – The Todra Gorges – The Dades Gorges
After breakfast, we will leave for Rissani to visit the market and its famous donkey parking lot. It is a unique place where all the tribes and nomads of the desert come to supply themselves. A very curious visit. Then we will travel to Erfoud where we will visit fossil quarries with an age superior to 380 million years. We will continue until we reach the famous Gorges of Todra, a favorite place for climbers and lovers of trekking. We will finish our tour in the Dades Valley. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 4 : Dades Valley – The Valley of the Roses – Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
We will go to the Dades Valley by “the Route of a Thousand Kasbahs” We will pass through the Valley of Roses where its inhabitants elaborate creams, soaps and rose water and after Ouarzazate we will visit the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou (Declared World Heritage by the UNESCO). In this spectacular frame, several famous movies have been shot like Gladiator, Obelix, and Sahara with Penélope Cruz. At the end we will pass through Ouarzazate and cross through the port of (Tizi Ntichka 2.260msnm) of the High Atlas we will arrive at Marrakech. End of 4 days Fes to Marrakech desert trip.
